KoleKole Pass, Hawaii on the Island of Oahu
Taken in 1991. At the site of huge white Cross at Kole Kole Pass on Oahu, Hawaii. You can see the lush green mountains in the background. The cross stands about 45 feet high and marks the place where a Japanese Zero was shot down after Bombing Pearl Harbor in December, 1941. The pilot was making his way back north to meet the carrier Group when it was shot down and slammed into the side of mountain... Quite a hike to this site, but once there, well worth the view. As you can see, this was taken by a friend when I least expected it, thus the stupid, idiotic look on my face... Or is this my normal face? Who's to say... :)
